What is (and is not) offered
- The services described here are independent technical and administrative oversight of construction, cost review (APU), pre-purchase technical inspection and solar PV design or review.
- This is not a real estate brokerage. I do not sell, list or negotiate properties and I do not charge commissions on sales.
- I do not promise investment returns, appreciation or resale value.
- Legal, architectural and insurance services are delivered by licensed, independent professionals, not by me.
Not legal, tax or financial advice
Guides, articles and checklists are general technical information. They do not replace advice from a Colombian attorney, a tax adviser or a financial adviser who knows your case. Regulations and official requirements change; confirm the current text with the official sources before you decide or sign anything.
No engagement without a written agreement
Sending a message, booking a call or reading this site does not create an engineering service relationship. A service starts only when we sign a written agreement that defines the scope, visits, deliverables, fees and timing.
Independent oversight verifies work through documents and site visits at the agreed times. It reduces risk, but it does not guarantee that there are no defects, and it does not replace the responsibility of the builder, designers or developer.
Accuracy of the content
I aim to keep the content accurate and cite official sources. It may still contain errors or become outdated. If you find one, please tell me at john@buildincolombia.com.
The track record describes public-sector project management. It shows scale and method, and it is not a promise of results in a private project. Photos of projects are shown with authorization; stock photos are labeled as such in the footer.
The site is offered in English and Spanish. If the two versions differ, tell me and rely on your written service agreement.

Texts, guides, checklists and design are my work unless a source is cited. You may quote short excerpts with a link to the original page. Please ask before reproducing more.

Links to official and third-party sites are for convenience; I do not control their content. WhatsApp and email are third-party channels with their own terms.
